Expansion
Yes, it is really happening, and right in front of our eyes.

Brand new equipment has arrived to our newly constructed Fitness Center!

Hallways that lead to our new Early Childhood classrooms.

Our Early Childhood teachers taking a tour of the new building.

A second gym coming along…
Each passing week, with the new expansion, the Center’s present building grows. And grows some more. The very landscape of the area between Ocean Parkway and East 7th Street will forever change as the Center grows, floor by floor.
The SCC, which has served as the hub of community activity for over a quarter of a century, will nearly double in size, from its present 58,000 to over 110,00 sq. ft.
Bigger and better.
The target date: Late Fall 2008. The end of Phase 1.
That will be followed by Phase 2 and the renovation of the present building. And then finally – we’ll witness the linking the two and the completion of one of the more ambitious projects ever in the Sephardic community of Brooklyn.
The New building of 55,000 sq. ft. of new space is includes:
- New 16,000 square foot Sports & Fitness Complex, including a New Fitness Center.
- 16,000 square foot Early Childhood Center with 8 new classrooms, early, an outdoor play area and a roof top playground.
- 13,000 sq. ft. open area that includes the new atrium, reception area and Heritage Hall.
- New 850 sq. ft. Art Gallery next to the Center for the Arts lobby
- Senior Adult Program Lounge and Card Room.
- A Teen Lounge and classroom
- Multipurpose Adult Lounge
And more. Much much more. We shall be expanding not only a building, but a community center that will remain the very heart of the Sephardic community, and everyone’s home away from home.
