Social Services

Linda Eber, L.C.S.W. – Social Services Director, 718-954-3154
Eileen Cabasso and Cyrisse Haddad – Co-Chairpeople

We are here to lend a hand and provide a vital link to services for community members in need. Along with activities for every age group that foster healthy bodies and minds, the SCC also offers a caring community to nurture the psyche and spirit, and help cope with life’s challenges.

Older Adult Hotline: 718-954-3131

We provide
- confidential supportive short-term counseling
- information and referral for in-depth services
- seminars, support groups, events and programs

Sometimes we talk by phone, other times we arrange to meet in the office. Often we hold an informal discussion in the hallway, at an event, or on your way to exercise. Depending on a person’s needs, we may offer educational resources, provide short-term counseling, or make referrals for more in-depth services. Because our conversations are confidential, much goes on behind the scenes and many people are unaware that this takes place.

Some groups are in formation, please call to indicate your interest:
Seminars on Women and Money
Brain Aerobics
Cyber Bullying and Bullying at School
Forum on ADD/ADHD
Parenting the Adolescent Child
Body Image and Self Esteem

Please let us know your concerns and services wish list. If we don’t have what you’re looking for, we’ll try to create it or point you towards finding the help you need.
